Location: Paramus Campus - HP 221, HP 227, HP 202

This 210-hour program provides the with skills necessary to work in acute care facilities (hospitals), urgent care centers, dialysis units and ambulatory care settings. Coursework includes: Medical Terminology, HIPPAA regulations EKG and Phlebotomy skills, advanced patient care skills with laboratory, emergency response including American Heart Association Adult First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification. All participants will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) examination for Patient Care Technician/Associate after completion of BOTH required modules for the Patient Care Technician program. Certification examination fee is included.

Prerequisites: HS diploma or GED. HH 772 Certified Nursing Assistant course OR Proof of NJ State Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.Hepatitis B immunization required prior to the phlebotomy skills session.
